ruby backend engineer jobs

UPractice is building a system to allow doctors to more easily schedule follow-up appointments with their patients based on the patient’s diagnosis and established guidelines for treating those diagnosis.

We are looking for someone to help build out the MVP of the system in Ruby and various AWS services such as AWS::S3 and AWS::Lambda. This is not a Rails app. The system is almost entirely a backend system, and there is no front-end needed for the MVP.

This means you should feel very comfortable writing clean scalable Ruby code, and you should feel comfortable with AWS services, or be open to learning.

Requirements:
  • Based in a time-zone no more than 3 hours away from East Coast Time.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • 3+ years coding in Ruby
  • experience writing tests
Nice To Have:
  • experience with AWS services S3 and Lambdas

The duration of the job is up to you. We have a detailed statement of work, and using this we can discuss the duration.

It would be really cool too if you were open to a more full time position after the contract work was over, but this is not required.
