An awesome job for an experienced RoR developer passionate about building great product, in a successful VC funded Australian startup. Work with the Founders in Adelaide & Melbourne, and our team of in-house RoR engineers in Singapore, Thailand, & Australia to continually build new features and improve existing UX.

As a little background, Bluethumb is Australia's largest online art marketplace. We have over 10,000 artists and sell their art directly to collectors. We're passionate about building incredible tech, our user testing program and building whatever we need to grow.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 2+ years Ruby on Rails development experience. This is a position for an experience Rails programmer, but you don't have to be a rock star or superhero to apply. To succeed in this role you will be confident and experienced in front end development and ideally also have an advanced level of knowledge in DevOps, QA or Data Science.

All our developers are full stack and get really varied new experience; with a mix of front end (solid level of Vue.js), back end (Ruby, Rails, Hanami) and DevOps (Kubernetes), doing short sprints and bigger projects.

This can be a remote role, but ideally you are located in a similar timezone to Australia (AEST) with at least 6 hours overlap. We have offices in Adelaide & Melbourne, so bonus points if you are in either of these two cities.

Please send an application tailored to this position that speaks to us. Introduce yourself as a colleague. Show us you are genuinely interested in a future with Bluethumb. We value great writers, so please do take your time with the application. Forget that generic resume. There’s no prize for being the first to submit! We’d like to see examples of software you’ve written. The actual code. We appreciate that it can be hard to share representative samples when you’ve been working on commercial software, so anything you can scrape together will be good. If you have open source contributions, those are great candidates, but you don’t have to be an open source contributor to apply.
